MEXICO CITY – It sounds like a fast-food grudge match: Taco Bell is taking on the homeland of its namesake by reopening for the first time in 15 years in Mexico.

Findings presented at the annual meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Diego may provide a means of tempering fast food's ill effects: an additive that can slow the absorption fat to a healthier rate.
