SANTA ROSA — School officials have closed an investigation into the district’s food service department after the firing of its longtime director, Superintendent Heriberto Villarreal said Wednesday.

SANTA ROSA — Food service Director Elizabeth Garza, the wife of the school board’s vice president, was suspended with pay Thursday as officials launched an investigation into her department, Superintendent Heriberto Villarreal said.

Kids are now choosing to eat healthier at school. The School Nutrition Association's annual survey given to food service directors around the country proves that. Among students in kindergarten through 12th grade, French fries dropped in popularity from 1998 to 2006, while carrots and fresh vegetables rose in popularity.
