update: After searches in Oregon's Curry and Douglas counties, new information on missing CNET senior editor James Kim and family is narrowing the search back to the Bear Camp area in Josephine County. A cell phone tower received a signal from one of the family's cell phones last Saturday near Glendale.

Investigators in southern Oregon's Curry County scaled back their search Saturday for a San Francisco family that vanished on its way to a hotel there, but an Oregon state police spokesman said officials still hoped to find the family safe.
