Toum is a garlic sauce as prepared in Lebanon. As well as garlic, it contains Olive Oil and lemon crushed using a wooden mortar and pestle. There is also a variation popular in many villages (Such as Zgharta) where mint is added, called "Zat and Toom".
Garlic oil olive sauce

Ingredients:6 tbsp olive oil3 garlic cloves. sliced thinly1/3 cup lean bacon, chopped1 lb 12oz/800 g canned chopped tomatoes1/2 tsp dried chili flakes
A sauce for pasta or meat, can be used as an ingredient in a variety of dishes. The classic use is to spread the pesto onto slices of bread which are then toasted. The ingredients are: basil, garlic, salt, pine nuts, olive oil, and parmesan cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano). [Leave the cheese out to make it vegan, also, you can substitute walnuts.]
