A Coney Island is a type of restaurant popular in the Midwestern United States, particularly in Detroit, Michigan, as well as the name for the chili dog after which the restaurant was named.

A little-known section of Coney Island's redevelopment plans could turn legendary hot dog haven Nathan's Famous into a towering wiener wonderland with clubs, stores and hotel rooms.

Coney Island's Astroland will be closed down at the end of the summer. Rockabilly kids probably will be replaced by people with time shares, the old facades torn down, hot dog stands replaced by restaurants, freak shows replaced by concerts…

He inhaled his way through 1 hot dog every 10.9 seconds on average, stealing the crown from Takeru Kobayashi, the once 6-time champ.
