Diamond Pet Foods, Inc. is an American commercial pet food manufacturer located in Meta, Missouri. It is a privately-held, family owned enterprise established in 1970 as a livestock feed company. The company markets itself as a super-premium food manufacturer and promotes itself as the "first pet food manufacturer to successfully market a super-premium product through a mass merchant".

California officials said Diamond Pet Foods sold pet food to American Hog Co., which used it as a feed ingredient. Tests found melamine in feed at the farm and in urine from the hogs.

The Diamond Pet Food company, whose products are also sold under the brand names Country Value and Professional, has recalled 19 varieties of dog and cat food. The FDA says at least 23 dogs have died and 18 others have fallen ill.

At least 100 dogs in the United States have been killed in recent weeks by toxic pet food despite a recall of the products, scientists said today.Some 19 brands of Diamond, Country Value and Professional dog foods have been recalled. But many pet owners are not aware of the recall, researchers at Cornell University said Friday.

Diamond Pet Food says it has discovered aflatoxin in a product manufactured at its facility in Gaston, South Carolina. Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring toxic chemical by-product from the growth of the fungus Aspergillus flavus, on corn and other crops.
