Tonight I cooked a different version of my "surprising summer omelette" for my family, & prepared the rest of the casaba melon for dessert. (The original omelette recipe can be found here.) This new recipe got even bigger rave reviews than the original, as "the best omelette I've made yet."

Now at last the summer is ending and the onset of fall is due, we can find ourselves in the kitchen cooking a meal for the family. There is no better way to spend time together, perhaps a weekend or an afternoon. There are many sources of inspiration, tv chefs, cookbooks and magazines.

These are great dishes to enjoy at home dining experience. Podcasts by the Minimalist Mark Bittman of the New York Times also include many summer staples for enjoying time in the kitchen. Since we began following the author of "How to Cook Everything" we've been able to enjoy ourselves more during meal preparation time.
