TiVo won yet another victory in its long-running patent infringement battle against Dish Network. A federal appeals court has upheld the lower court's ruling and damage award, and Dish Network is likely to be forced to shut off its DVR service once the appeal becomes final.
Dish Networks have lost it's appeal of infringing against TiVo's software patent. The injunction that ordered Dish to stop providing DVR service that had been held while the case was under appeal will now been reinstated once the appeal is finalized. Basically Dish will be pay license fees to TiVo or shut down their DVR service.
